This is our first store. When you volunteer, you’ll help out in the back sorting, steaming, pricing, and restocking, or you’ll serve customers and tidy up in-store. As this requires induction and training, we request that you commit to at least 1 weekly shift of at least 2 hours for a minimum of two months, although we hope you will join us for a long time to come. Old Library Volunteer (Members Only)

The Library always welcomes new volunteers. Introductory training is provided for new volunteer librarians followed by hands-on training on regular shifts. Librarians are assigned to a regular four-hour morning or afternoon shift as places become available. Duties include manning the circulation desk, shelving and processing books, and assisting library users. All volunteers must be members of the Library.

For ages 15-21, you begin by taking a mandatory mending induction session to learn the basics. 🪡 Mending 101 Class (Intro to hand mending; Basics) Sundays | 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. (Fee: AED50) Discover the basics of clothing repair in this one-hour crash course designed to kickstart your journey into sustainable fashion. You’ll learn essential skills like:  Understanding the importance of fashion sustainability, and garment care  Threading a needle and tying secure knots  Sewing on buttons  Repairing seams  Fixing hems The mending class can be booked under our workshops page. Once you’ve submitted the volunteer form, we’ll get in touch to help you book your Mending 101 class and first volunteer session
